LM80C: video OK!

I finally was able to get a vivid, super splendid, high-definition picture on my TV! My TMS9918A is generating a correct picture, no more rotations of the image, no more color inversion: just what I was waiting for.

LM80C-welcome message

LM80C-welcome message (the “e” is my fault, I designed it one pixel-row lower)

I spent the last 10 days trying every sort of wirings between the video chip, the D-type Flip-flops and the SRAM chip, with no success. Every time I tried a new schema I got a picture that wasn’t correct: there always was something wrong, i.e. the rotation of the fonts, the inverted colors, unreadable characters, glitches and other issues. Finally I found this schematic: I followed it and the results are in the picture above. Sincerely, I don’t know why it works and the other ones I tried didn’t (I’m still trying to understand why the author didn’t follow the classic numerical arrangement) but it doesn’t matter since it works. I’ll update my schematics on Github soon. Stay tuned.
